HIPAA-Conscious Coaching
While coaching isn't clinical and not bound by HIPAA in the same way, we still operate with the same level of privacy, respect, and documentation standards one would expect of a BCBA in the field.
Privacy Practices and Disclaimer
As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), I take your privacy and confidentiality seriously. While coaching is not therapy or a replacement for medical, mental health, or other professional services, I hold myself to the same standards of respect and care that I would in a clinical setting.
Confidentiality
- Information you share with me during coaching sessions will be kept private and treated with the same level of care as in a clinical relationship.
- I will not disclose your personal information to others without your permission, except if required by law (for example, in situations involving imminent harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse, or court orders).
Coaching vs. Therapy
- Coaching is focused on goal-setting, accountability, and building skills—not diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.
- If at any point I believe your needs would be better supported by a licensed mental health professional or other provider, I will discuss this with you and provide referrals if appropriate.
Privacy Practices
- Any notes or records I keep are for my professional use in supporting your coaching journey and are stored securely.
- Electronic communications (such as email or scheduling platforms) are handled with care, though I cannot guarantee complete security of information transmitted online.
By engaging in coaching services, you acknowledge that you understand these practices and the limits of confidentiality.
